What Would Make This True

Take is TRUE if selecting 2 TEs in rounds 13-25 and streaming afterwards outperforms drafting more TEs earlier or relying on single TE pick. Take is FALSE if this strategy underperforms taking 3+ TEs in earlier rounds or if TE scarcity makes this risky.

DIRECTIONALLY RIGHT

The core strategy of treating TEs 18–25 as a gamble tier proved partially correct: Goedert was the clear outlier, finishing as a top-6 TE with a career-high 11 TDs and 60 catches — far too good to be treated as a late-round streamer. Waller (6 TDs in 9 games, IR'd) and Strange (46 catches, 540 yards, 3 TDs in 12 games) showed boom/bust gamble value as predicted. However, several others disappointed even by streamer standards: Ertz tore his ACL in Week 14 (50/504/4 but then gone), Otton had zero TDs through most of the season (59 catches, 572 yards, 1 TD), Freiermuth finished TE24 (41/486/4 in a crowded Pittsburgh room), Mason Taylor ended as a TE32-35 with a neck injury ending his season after Week 13 (44/369/1), and Okonkwo ranked TE22 with only 2 TDs. The prediction was right that this tier required streaming luck, but misidentified Goedert as belonging here and underestimated how injury- and disappointment-prone the group would be as a whole.
